                                          23-10-2025   The Student Council has consistently played an instrumental role in fostering leadership qualities and providing valuable learning opportunities to the students of the institution. It actively collaborates with both the faculty and the student body to achieve the curricular and co-curricular objectives of the college.
At Islamabad Model College for Girls (Postgraduate), F-7/2, elections for the Student Council for the academic session 2025–26 were conducted in October 2025. A dignified Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected Executive Members and Class Representatives was held on 23rd October, 2025 in the College Auditorium.
The ceremony was graced by the honourable Minister of the State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Ms. Wajiha Qamar as the Chief Guest. She has proven her mettle as a true patron of girl education in her previous assignment as Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training and in her current role as the Minister of State.
Mr. Shahid Mahmood Abbasi (Director Colleges), Mr. Muhammad Qamar ud din (Director Urban I) and Ms. Fasiha Fayaz Khan (Deputy Director, Quality Control) from the Federal Directorate of Education were also in attendance. Principals from various educational institutions attended the event as well. The parents of the newly elected Executive Council Members were also invited to witness the auspicious occasion.
The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran along with its translation by Mehr un Nisa Arshad followed by a Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w) rendered by Faiza Naseer . The host, Ms. Sara Bibi , extended a warm welcome to the honourable Chief Guest. The Stage Secretary elaborated on the pivotal role of the Student Council in organizing inter-class and inter-collegiate competitions. Ms. Sara Bibi also highlighted the academic and co-curricular achievements of the college during the session 2024–25.
Subsequently, the College Anthem was melodiously presented by a group of talented students. The outgoing President, Ms. Huda Khalid, delivered a heartfelt farewell address and formally handed over her responsibilities to the incoming President, Ms. Aoon Muskan. She also presented the college activities report for the session 2024-2025 to the Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh. 
Ms. Wajiha Qamar administered the oath of office to President Ms. Aoon Muskan, Vice President Ms. Areeba Aziz , General Secretary Ms. Amna Azhar, Joint Secretary Ms. Samiya Malik, the Secretaries of various societies, and the Class Representatives. The Chief Guest also distributed badges among the newly appointed office bearers of the Student Council 2025–26.
In her address to the audience, the Chief Guest lauded the Student Council for ensuring a smooth and democratic process for electing the Student Council 2025-26. She appreciated the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, for her dedication and commitment towards her profession. She emphasized upon the character building role of the teachers in the lives of the students. The Chief Guest encouraged the teachers to evolve and equip themselves to maintain pace with the requirements the 21st century. She urged the students to maintain faith in their abilities, asserting that the youth possess the strength and potential to reshape society for the better. Her eloquent and thought-provoking address was received with great appreciation and admiration by the audience.
Thereafter, the Principal presented the College Insignia to the Chief Guest as a token of gratitude. In her concluding remarks, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh expressed sincere thanks to the Chief Guest for her gracious presence and extended heartfelt felicitations to the In-Charge Student Council and her team for organizing a splendid and well-coordinated ceremony. Aoon Muskan, President Student Council, presented a vote of gratitude on behalf of the newly elected Student Council.

                                          16-10-2025   Letter to My First Vote – A Symbolic Commitment to Pakistan’s Future
An engaging and meaningful event was held at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad on 16th October, 2025 organized by Election Commission of Pakistan and FDE. It aimed at fostering civic responsibility among students and encouraging them to reflect on their role in shaping Pakistan’s future. The activity, titled “Letter to My First Vote,” provided students with an opportunity to write personal letters to their vote, expressing their hopes, aspirations, and commitment towards building a better Pakistan.
The event began with the introductory remarks by Ms. Duriya Aamir (Director, Media Coordination and Outreach)  from the Election Commission of Pakistan, who emphasized upon the importance of youth participation in the democratic process of casting their vote for the progress of their country. Ms. Nayab Batool (Assistant Director, MCO) guided the audience and the participants regarding the planned activities and their utility. Their words inspired the students to think critically about their responsibilities as future voters.
Following the remarks, students enthusiastically took part in the letter-writing activity, crafting heartfelt and thoughtful messages to their “first vote.” Each letter was a symbolic gesture of their personal pledge to engage positively and responsibly in the electoral process. 
Adding a creative and interactive touch to the event, Pakistan Post set up a mock postal station on the stage. Students actively participated in the postal activity, which included sealing their letters in envelopes, stamping them, and posting them into a symbolic letterbox. 
In his address, the Chief Guest for the occasion, Mr. Nazar Abbas (Additional Director General, Media Coordination and Outreach, ECP) extended his gratitude towards the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, and the administration for facilitating the flawless execution of the event. He explained that the aim of today's event was to arouse the curiosity of the youth of the country in the electoral process. 
Mr. Nazar Abbas presented the tokens of gratitude to the Principal of the college, the Vice Principals, Head of the Student Council and the President of the Student Council. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh shared her thoughts of appreciation for the entire program. 
Throughout the event, short video clips and student testimonials were recorded, capturing the energy, reflections, and commitment of the youth. 
The event concluded on a high note, leaving the participants inspired, informed, and eager to play their part in shaping the future of Pakistan through responsible voting.

Today marked a proud and heartwarming moment at IMCG (P.G) F-7/2, as our Girl Guides took their Oath of Service, pledging to dedicate themselves to helping others, spreading kindness, and upholding moral and social values. 💫
Our respected Principal graced the occasion and shared her insightful thoughts, inspiring the young guides to embody discipline, empathy, and responsibility in every walk of life. She emphasized that true leadership begins with service — to humanity, to community, and to one’s own moral growth. 
The ceremony reflected the true spirit of unity, compassion, and commitment — values that lie at the heart of Girl Guiding.
A proud moment for the institution, and an even prouder one for every young girl who chose to serve beyond herself.

                                    Space Week Celebrations 2025
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          13-10-2025   The Department of Physics organised various activities to celebrate World Space Week at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. The students took part in a Poster Making Competition and Quiz Competition with great enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the Quiz Competition, held in the college auditorium, was the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh. The judges for the quiz competition were Ms. Samina Tanveer (Associate Professor, Dept. of Mathematics) and Dr. Salma Shehnaz (Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemistry). A total of 7 teams took part in the battle of the brains to display their knowledge about our universe, earth and the satellite system. In the final round, the participants competed independently for the top prizes. The results of the quiz competition are as under:

An interesting tableau was also enacted by the students on the status of Pluto in the solar system.

A prize for participation was given to Momina Azmat for making a model of Rehbar I. 
The respected Principal, at the start of her speech, appreciated the efforts of the Department of Physics in organising a wonderful and informative program. She commented, in detail, upon the perfect scheme of Nature, created by the Allah Almighty to facilitate our time on earth. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh advised the audience to use their knowledge to fulfill the purpose of their existence as ordained by Allah Almighty. 
Dr. Maria Yunas, Head of the Department of Physics, presented a note of gratitude at the end of the program. 
The activities proved to be an extremely worthwhile endeavour for igniting the scientific curiosity among the students.

IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised a beautiful ceremony to celebrate the arrival of the saviour of humanity---- Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). The elegant stage decorations and the setting of the hall created an ambiance befitting the grand occasion of Eid Milaad un Nabi (s.a.w.w). The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, along with the staff members welcomed the honourable Minister for State for Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Ms.Wajiha Qamar, who graced the occasion with her august presence. The respected principals of various colleges and the retired members of fraternity also attended the holy gathering. The students offered melodious tributes to Rehmat ul lil Alameen, Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). The love and reverence in their voices held the audience in a deep trance. Ms. Sumera Farooq (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Islamic Studies), in her speech, shed light on the islamic teachings related to conservation of Mother Nature. In the end, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, led a prayer, beseeching Allah Almighty to bestow His blessings upon us. Her words left the audience teary eyed. The sublime spiritual gathering touched the hearts of many and rejuvenated their world-weary spirits. May Allah accept our efforts to please Him and His beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). Aameen

                                    78th Independence Day Celebrations 2025
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          14-08-2025   The celebration for the 78th Independence Day of Islamic Republic of Pakistan was held at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad on 14th August 2025. The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh and the Vice Principals, Ms. Shabana Tabassum and Ms. Ms. Sarwat Nazir,  along with the members of teaching and administrative staff gathered in the college auditorium to mark the occasion with great national fervour.
This year's events are special because the entire nation is celebrating its historic victory in Marka-e-Haq as well.
The stage was decorated tastefully, thereby uplifting the hearts of the audience. The flag of the nation, an emblem of freedom and hope, was hoisted by the Principal of the college, Vice Principals and the faculty. Afterwards, the national anthem was played for the audience.
The talented offsprings of the teaching and non-teaching staff took part in the event to express their love for Pakistan. Dressed in the national colours of green and white, their enthralling performances magnified the beauty of the day.
The Principal, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, felicitated the audience on the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan. In her address, she commended the efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff as well as their offsprings on making the program a success. While quoting the verses of Allama Iqbal, she emphasised upon the fact that collective effort of people can build up the prestige of our educational institution. We should remain committed to serving our institution and our country with utmost sincerity. 
Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain Rehan (Dept. of Islamic Studies) concluded the event with a heartfelt prayer for the betterment of Pakistan and Muslim Ummah.

                                    Orientation Day HSSC-I2025
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          12-08-2025   The Orientation ceremony, held on 11th August, 2025, marked the beginning of the academic session 2025-26 for HSSC I at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. The new students and their parents were welcomed by the smartly garbed Class Representatives of HSSC II and the staff members on duty. 
Dr. Somia Sohail (HoD, English) provided the opening remarks for the ceremony in which she mentioned details about the facilities provided in the college i.e newly renovated General Library, Seminar Library, Hostel, Infirmary, College Mosque, filtration plants for clean, drinking water and provisions for sports activities. The audience were also shown a documentary detailing the illustrious history and achievements of the institution. The students of HSSC I and their parents  received a briefing on the rules and regulations of various aspects of the college by the In charges of the Discipline Committee and Examination Committee. Ms. Rabail Sindhu (Member, Transport Committee) informed the audience about the transport service provided by the college. 
The principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh congratulated the students on becoming a part of IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. She expected from the new entrants to transform themselves into useful members of the society by following the guidance of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Rasool (p.b.u.h). She also put emphasis upon observing punctuality and regularity; failure to do so will result in penalties and fine. Similarly, there is a complete ban on the possession of mobile phones. Lastly, she counselled the students to work hard and have a hearty breakfast for a fruitful day in college. The ceremony ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.
The Principal, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer, the college administration and the teaching faculty welcomes the new students with the hope that they will strive to become a source of pride for their families, educational institution and the country.

                                    Tree Plantation and a Poster Competition Organized by the NAB 
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          12-03-2025   A number of productive activities were held at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. A team from National Accountability Bureau led by Director (NAB) Asim Raza Adil organized a Poster Making Competition in the college to raise awareness on the plague of corruption.The Director for Awareness and Prevention(NAB), Mr. Abdul Khaliq was also present on the occasion as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the efforts of the young artists in highlighting the sensitive issue. In the competition, Nimra Siddique took the third position, Haniya Qadeer secured the second position whereas, Syeda Kanwal Batool Kazmi secured the top honours. 
The Horticulture Committee of the college also organized a Tree Plantation Drive in which Director (NAB) Mr. Abdul Khaliq, Principal Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, respected Vice Principals and HoDs of the institution planted saplings of Pomegranate tree, Loquat tree, Fig plant, Guava plant, Sweet lime tree, Grape plant, Falsa tree, Jaman tree, Citron tree and Almond tree in the college gardens. Fasiha Fayyaz Khan, Assistant Director (FDE), participated in the Tree Plantation Drive as well. They also watched an interesting presentation on the benefits of the trees planted in the drive, which was presented by Iqra from BS Chemistry IV. Overall, the activities provided an excellent opportunity to channelize the creative and nurturing spirit of the attendees.

                                    Intercollegiate English Drama Competition 2025
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          01-03-2025   IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organized an Inter Collegiate English Drama Competition on 27th February, 2025. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Shabnam Riaz, an award winning newscaster, poet and artist. It was a vibrant program where the budding artisans performed on the short stories from the Victorian Era. The esteemed judges for the competition were:

The students presented beautiful performances on some of the famous short stories of the Victorian masters. The performance on Oscar Wilde's  "The Happy Prince" by IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad deeply resonated with the audience. The students also entertained the spectators with poems, songs, excerpt readings and videos about the era of Queen Victoria while waiting for the enactments to commence. In her address, the Chief Guest, Ms. Shabnam Riaz, greatly appreciated the efforts of the students and the organisers of the event. She emphasized upon the fact that we should overcame our fears and believe in ourselves wholeheartedly. It is our being which is precious and not our possessions. Therefore, we must invest in ourselves. The Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh applauded the endeavours of the young artists and their mentors. The results of the Inter Collegiate English Drama Competition 2025 are:

                                          27-12-2024   A Student Council is intrumental in providing encouragement to the future leaders studying in educational institutions. It works actively with the teachers and the students for the fulfillment of the curricular and co-curricular objectives of the institution. Elections to choose the Student Council for the academic year 2024-25 were held in the month of October in IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. A solemn and dignified Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected Executive members of the Council and the Class Representatives was held on 27th December, 2024 in the College Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Najeeba Arif, Chairperson, Pakistan Academy of Letters. She is the first woman to head the Pakistan Academy of Letters. She has spent over 36 years in the service of the Urdu language. She is the founder of the Index of the Urdu Journals. She is the author of many books which have been published in countries worldwide. Dr. Najeeba Arif has had the honour of being invited as a guest speaker in US and European universities as well. 
The programme started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Translation by Ayesha Arshad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w) by Faiza Naseer. The host of the ceremony, Syeda Fizza Batool, welcomed the honourable Chief Guest on the stage. The stage secretary threw light on the role of the Student Council in organizing Inter-Class and Inter-Collegiate competitions. Fizza Batool also expounded upon the extraordinary achievements of the college in curricular and co-curricular activities in the academic year 2023-24. The honourable Chief Guest distributed certificates among the office bearers of the outgoing Student Council. The President of the outgoing Student Council, Ms. Sadia Komal gave her farewell speech after handing over the charge to the new President, Ms. Huda Khalid. Dr. Najeeba Arif took oath of office from the newly elected President Ms. Huda Khalid, Vice President Ms. Noreen Hanif, General Secretary Ms. Asma Fazal, Joint Secretary Ms. Mahnoor Shehzadi, the secretaries of various societies and the class representatives. She also distributed badges among the office bearers and the class representatives of the Student Council 2024-25. The Chief Guest was then called upon the podium to address the audience. She commended the smooth transition of power to the new Student Council. She also appreciated the achievements, humanitarian values and the disciplined environment of IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. She expressed her pride in being affiliated with the college as an educationist for 12 years. She told the young audience not to be deterred by the lack of resources or difficulties in life; rather they should work hard and persevere with a pure heart to achieve great things in life. Her eloquent speech was well received by the audience. The Principal of the College also gave the insignia of the college to the Chief Guest. The Principal, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, in her closing remarks, thanked the Chief Guest for her august presence. She also felicitated the In charge Student Council and her team for organizing an outstanding function today. The ceremony ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

A program was held at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 to pay homage to the founder of our nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah, on his 148th birth anniversary. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh. The vibrant program, organised by the Department of English, enlightened the audience not only with the grit of the great leader but with the versatility of his personality as well. Speeches, songs and recitation of excerpts from various historians shed light on a man known for his wit, humour, wisdom, courage and foresight, whom we respectfully call, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah. The students also enacted a play written by the Head of the Department of English, Dr. Somia Sohail, on the current situation of Pakistan and how it should be aligned with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam. The Chief Guest, in her address, felicitated the Department of English on organising a well orchestrated program on Quaid Day. She emphasized upon the importance of following the principles of faith in ourselves, believing in the unity of God and being disciplined in our personal and public lives, as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam, for the bettermeA special ceremony was held on 25th December, 2024 at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad to celebrate the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah. The morning started with the hoisting of the national flag followed by the national anthem. In the college auditorium, the students and the children of the staff members presented speeches, songs and poems to pay tribute to the father of the nation. A documentary was also played to show the achievements of Quaid-e-Azam. In her address, the Principal Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, stressed upon the need of the society,as a whole, taking responsibility to work honestly for the betterment of Pakistan. She extended her felicitations on Quaid Day and Christmas as well. This day serves as a reminder for the Pakistanis to persevere with dedication to achieve Quaid's dream of a tolerant and prosperous Pakistan.nt of the country. The Principal also congratulated the Christian workforce of the college on Christmas and distributed cash gifts among them. The event ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

                                          29-03-2024   Appreciation for the Talented and the Committed  motivates them to soar to new heights and greater glory. Federal Directorate of Education held an Academic Excellence Award Ceremony on 29th March, 2024 at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. The ceremony was organized to acknowledge the excellent academic results accomplished under the leadership of the learned Heads of the Institutions in the session 2022-23. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the honourable Director General (FDE), Mr. Tanwir Ahmed. The event was also attended by Dr. Shafqat Ali Janjua (Joint Education Advisor), Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza (Director Colleges), Ms. Riffat Jabeen (Director Academics and QA), Dr. Tabassum Naz (Director Schools), various dignitaries from FDE, Heads of the Institutions and Staff members. The program started with the rendition of the National Anthem followed by the recitation from the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w). Ms. Somia Sohail, Assistant Professor (IMCG F-7/2), greeted the august guests and shed light on the academic feats of the attendees. Director General (FDE) along with other notable officers from the Directorate distributed a total of Fifty Eight awards among the distinguished Principals on outstanding results in the categories of Primary level, Grade 8, Matriculation, Intermediate and BS programs respectively. In addition to this, the winners of the top position in each category were awarded a cash prize of 50,000rs. In the category of Primary level, Ms. Nusrat Farid, Head mistress (IMS I-V F-7/2), received the cash prize. Ms. Zahida Nasim Siddiqui, Vice Principal (IMSG I-VIII Khanna Dak), got the distinction in the category of Grade 8. Ms. Ghazala Bashir Khan, Principal (IMSG VI-X G-6/1-3), won the accolade at Matriculation level. At Intermediate level, Ms. Aaliya Durrani, Principal (IMCG F-6/2), got the distinction while Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, Principal (IMCG Post Graduate F-7/2), received the cash prize on displaying superb results at BS level. 
DG (Edu), Mr. Tanwir Ahmed, addressed the audience after the certificate distribution. He offered his felicitations to the winners and praised the commendable service of the Principals in imparting quality education to the students despite limited resources. The Chief Guest also stressed upon the need of continual efforts on the part of the heads of the institutions and teachers in bestowing  the knowledge of the 21st century upon the students. Finally, he reiterated his commitment to create a healthy environment for the educationists working under the ambit of FDE. 
 The Principal of host college, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, provided the Note of Gratitude on the successful completion of the event. The Academic Excellence Award Ceremony is a significant initiative on the part of FDE to boost the confidence of the pedagogues ahead of the start of the new academic session.

                                    Celebration of Quaid-e-Azam Day 2023
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          25-12-2023   It is the right of every national hero to be remembered by its nation with dignity and respect. The month of December has always been   set as the month of our beloved Quaid, Muhammed Ali Jinnah, in the hearts of every Pakistani. In this regard, Federal Directorate of Education Islamabad and the educational institutions working under it, had organized a Speech Competition as a part of Quaid's Week celebrations from 18th to 22nd December, 2023. One of the largest educational institutions of the capital, IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad, had the honour of hosting the Final Inter Sector level Bilingual Speech Competition on 22nd December, 2023. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was the honourable DG FDE, Mr. Tanveer Ahmed. Other dignitaries attending the function were Ms. Riffat Jabeen (Director, Exam/Acad/R&D) and Mr. Inam Jahangir (Director P&D). The honourable judges for the competition were Dr. Saira Asghar (Assistant Professor, Fatima Jinnah Women University) and Ms. Sara Ehsaan (Research Associate, Quaid-e-Azam University). The competition started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w). A total of Six  speakers expressed their thoughts on the visionnaire of the 20th century, Muhammed Ali Jinnah. The program commenced with a heart warming speech from Raqeeza Shehzadi who                        gave her views on the topic  بیسویں صدی کے عظیم رہنما قائدِاعظم. Muhammed Awais from IMCB G-10/4 Islamabad spoke eloquently on the topic "Quaid-e-Azam's Vision of Religious Tolerance". Another speaker, Syeda Fizza Batool from IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad, talked about the great visionary leader, Quaid-e-Azam, who had the foresight of creating a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent in the backdrop of today's religious intolerance rampant in the neighbouring country. The students of the college also entertained the audience with patriotic songs on  Quaid-e-Azam Day. In his address, the esteemed Chief Guest for the occasion, DG FDE Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, appreciated the tireless endeavours of the organizers and participants in making the function today a great success. He also shared his insight about the par excellence leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah in the freedom movement and his utmost dedication to the principles of honesty, unity, faith and discipline. He stressed upon the need of following directives of Quaid-e-Azam for the betterment of our homeland, Pakistan. Afterwards, the stage secretary, Ms. Sobia Masood, called the Chief Guest, Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, Principal Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, Ms. Riffat Jabeen and Mr. Inam Jahangir  upon the stage to distribute prizes among the worthy winners. The third position was taken by Abeer Rizwan (FGCHEMS F-11, Ibd.), the second position was given to Muhammed Mansoor Afzal (ICB G-6, Ibd.) and the top honours went to Syeda Fizza Batool (IMCG Post Graduate F-7/2, Ibd.). The Principal of the college presented the College Insignia to the Guests of Honour, Ms. Riffat Jabeen and Mr. Inam Jahangir. She also presented the College Insignia to the Chief Guest, DG FDE Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, to show gratitude for his presence. The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh provided the closing note and thanked the dignitaries and the students for their participation in the program. Gifts were also distributed among the Christian Non-teaching Staff to show solidarity with them. The program was a testament that the love and esteem for Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah is alive and pulsating in the core of every native of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

                                    Inter Class Urdu Drama Competition 2023-24
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          18-12-2023   The Inter Class Urdu Drama Competition titled "Natak Katha" was held in IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad with great gusto and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Vice Principal of the college, Ms. Sarwat Nazir. The honourable judges for the competition were Ms. Zille Huma ( Dept. of Zoology), Ms. Ayesha Kiran (Dept. of Physics) and Ms. Qurat ul Ain (Dept. of Computer Sciences). The competition was a beautiful amalgam of tragedy, satire, wit, humour and melodrama. A humorous play on the rising inflation and dearness in Pakistan tickled the funny bones of the audience. Another play titled    " دخترِ فلسطین" depicted the atrocities perpetuated by the Israel on the innocent Palestinians. The lyrical monologue in the end moved everyone to tears. The classic "ہیر رانجھا" introduced the folk culture and tradition to the audience. The play         "چار دن کی چاندنی پھر اندھیری رات" ,which was about the fake spiritual healers looting the gullible, captured the attention of the spectators. The main leads of the play, Amna and Ansa of 2nd yr Q, kept the audience entertained through their excellent role playing. A total of Nine plays were enacted by the talented students on the stage. The Chief Guest, Ms. Sarwat Nazir, appreciated the efforts of the organizers and the participants. She also gave many valuable tips to the young artists regarding stage setting and dialogue delivery. The Inter Class Qirat Competition 2023 was held on 5th December, 2023 in the college auditorium. The Chief Guest of the function was the Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh. The esteemed judges of the competition were Ms. Shagufta Shahid (HoD, Arabic), Ms. Ayesha Anum (Lecturer, Dept. of Arabic) and Ms. Saira Anwar (Incharge Masjid Committee). The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w). The host of the competition, Sadia Komal (President, Student Council), shed light on the benefits of reciting the Holy Quran regularly. She also informed the audience that Ayat ul Qursi has been selected for recitation in the Qirat Competition. A total of 10 participants took part in the contest. Their mellifluous voices reciting the verses of Quran-e-Hakeem created a soulful ambience in the auditorium. In her address, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, eloquently spoke about the significance of reciting Ayat ul Qursi as it is protects the Muslims against the evil. She also recounted the incident in which Shaitaan himself accepted the effectiveness of Ayat ul Qursi. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to recite it daily. In the end, The Principal appreciated the organizers and the participants for their efforts. The winners of the event are as under

                                          24-11-2023   A Student Council has always been efficacious in providing leadership and learning opportunities to the pupils of an educational institution. It works actively with the teachers and the students for the fulfillment of the curricular and co-curricular objectives of the institution. Elections to choose the Student Council for the academic year 2023-24 were held in the month of October in IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad. A solemn and dignified Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected Executive members of the Council and the Class Representatives was held on 23rd November, 2023 in the College Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak, Vice Chancellor of the University of Swabi. He is a seasoned educationist who has done his Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts, USA. He has also served on key administrative and managerial positions in various universities. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak is an accomplished scholar who has published over forty research papers in national and international journals. Parents of the worthy Executive Council Members were also invited to attend the ceremony. The programme started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Translation by Sidra Shehzad followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (s.a.w.w) by Elaf Farooq. The host of the ceremony, Fizzah Atta, welcomed the honourable Chief Guest on the stage. The stage secretary threw light on the role of the Student Council in organizing Inter-Class and Inter-Collegiate competitions. Fizzah Atta also expounded upon the achievements of the college in curricular and co-curricular activities in the academic year 2022-23. The talented crew led by Ayesha Ali recited the College Anthem melodiously. The President of the outgoing Student Council, Ms. Rukhsar Nudrat, gave her farewell speech after handing over the charge to the new President, Ms. Sadia Komal. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak took oath of office from the newly elected President Ms. Sadia Komal, Vice President Ms. Huda Khalid, General Secretary Ms. Areeba Malik, Joint Secretary Ms. Fatima tuz Zahra, the secretaries of various societies and the class representatives. He also distributed badges among the office bearers of the Student Council 2023-24. The Chief Guest, Dr.Nasir Jamal Khattak, along with Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh (Principal, IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad) awarded scholarships to the brilliant students for securing excellent results in various disciplines. The Chief Guest was then called upon the podium to address the audience. He commended the Student Council on the smooth transition of power by following the golden principles of democracy. He thought that this instance could teach a lot to the leaders of our country. He also emphasized upon the fact that life should not be perceived in binaries of happiness and sadness, losing and winning because circumstances change with time. The only focus should be to not loose faith in our abilities as the youth has the power to transform the world for the better. His eloquent speech was very well received by the audience. The Principal of the College also gave the insignia of the college to the Chief Guest. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, in her closing remarks, thanked the Chief Guest for his august presence. She also felicitated the In charge Student Council and her team for organizing an outstanding function today. The ceremony ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised a beautiful ceremony to celebrate Eid Milaad un Nabi (s.a.w.w). The stage decorations were aesthetically pleasing as befitting the grand occasion of the birth of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, along with the staff members welcomed the respected officials from FDE, principals of various colleges and the retired members of fraternity to the holy gathering. The students offered melodious tributes to Rehmat ul lil Alameen, Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). Their voices transported the audience to pure and reverent place. Ms. Rabia Kayani eloquently highlighted the greatness of the character of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) while Dr. Aiysha Madni, in her speech, registered a protest against the desecration of Holy Quran in the western countries. In the end, Dr. Aiysha Madni also led a prayer, beseeching Allah Almighty to bestow His blessings upon us. Her words left the audience teary eyed. The spiritual gathering, held to honour the birth of the Saviour of humanity, had such an ethereal quality that it is hard to capture it in mere words. May Allah accept our efforts to please Him and His beloved Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). Aameen

                                    A lecture on "The Reality of the Soul" by Ustada Alia Malik
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          08-09-2023   IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised a lecture on "The Reality of the Soul" today. Ustada Alia Malik (Alima at Nur ul Ilm Islamabad) graced the occasion to speak on the subject. The lecture started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Dr. Ayesha Madni (Dept. Of Islamic Studies) and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool by Ayesha Ali ( 2nd year Pre Medical). The honourable speaker, Ms. Alia Malik, initiated the discourse by explaining to the audience about the reality of the soul and how it remains eternal even after the death of a person. She also signalled out two entities which mislead a man from the righteous path namely Satan and Nafs. She, then, centred her discussion upon the perils of Nafs-e-Ammarah. She explained the ways to control it in order to advance to Nafs ul Lawwama and subdue it also. Only then can a human being achieve Nafs-e-Mutmainna which helps us gain a pure heart, success in eternal life and, ultimately, Allah's approval. She stressed upon the need that we should not be deluded by the attractions of this temporary world as stated in Surah Takasur verse 1. She suggested that Muslims should attain piety by detaching themselves from worldly possessions and desires. Secondly, they should make charity a priority. Lastly, the believers should keep themselves busy in Allah's worship. Overall, Ms. Alia Malik's lecture proved to be a soul stirring experience for both the students and the faculty members.

                                    76th  Independence Day Celebrations 2023
                                      
                                     
                                    
                                          14-08-2023   Islamic Republic of Pakistan is celebrating its 76th Independence Day today. IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad also arranged a vibrant program befitting the grand occasion on 14th August, 2023. The honourable staff members, their children and the students of the college took part in the celebrations wholeheartedly. The day started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and followed by Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool (S.A.W.W). The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, along with the respected Vice Principals and the senior staff members hoisted the flag of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Afterwards the National Anthem was played to pay our respects to our motherland. The host of the event, Ms. Somia Sohail (Asst. Professor, Dept. Of English), eloquently expressed her patriotic feelings for the country. The students of the institution and the talented offsprings of the staff members left no stone unturned in paying tribute to Pakistan. Decked out in colours of the flag, they presented speeches and songs to convey their love for Pakistan. Ms. Irum Sheikh, Incharge Student Council, poetically expressed the need of determination and hope in overcoming the various challenges our country is facing today. In her address, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, extended her heartfelt felicitations to the staff members and their families on this joyous occasion. She stressed upon the fact that as a nation, we should be grateful and vigilant in order to protect our freedom. In the end, she also planted a sapling in the college garden to commerate the occasion. Independence Day celebrations play an important role in instilling the patriotic spirit in the youth of the country.

IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad organised an orientation ceremony for the newly admitted students of HSSC-I today to kick-start the activities of the academic year 2023-24. Both the students and their respected parents were invited to attend the event. The Principal of the college, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, Vice Principal, Ms. Shabana Tabassum, as well as Incharges of various committees such as Discipline, Student Council, Transport, Timetable, Admissions and Student Affairs (HSSC-I) were also present on the occasion. The host of the event, Ms. Somia Sohail (Asst. Professor, Dept. of English) welcomed the new students. Afterwards, she invited the distinguished Principal of the college to address the gathering. The Principal, Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, started her speech by congratulating the students and their parents on getting admission in one of the illustrious educational institutions of the capital. She also informed the pupils about the institution's great legacy, the on campus facilities provided to the students and the rules of the college. She laid emphasis on the crucial role of hard work, discipline and honesty for attaining success in life. Her address was well received by the audience. The Incharge of Discipline Committee stressed upon the compliance of college rules on the part of the students. The Incharge Transport Committee informed the pupils regarding the bus facility and its routes. The Incharge of Student Affairs (HSSC-I) also interacted with the pupils. Overall, the orientation ceremony ensured the smooth beginning of the new academic session.

 An Icon of  FG Institutions, Ms Afroze Begum, was laid to rest on 11th  June, 2023.  May Allah bless her with the highest place in Jannah.  Madam Afroze was an institution  in herself.  She remained  Principal of F G College  for  Women, F-7/2, Islamabad  for fifteen  years.  She made it a role model for  sister  institutions.  She was, no doubt, indispensable.  She also  served as DG FDE and  Chairperson  FBISE.  Her services  in the field of education, especially  in the Federal Capital, will never be forgotten.  
To pay homage  to the great  personality of Madam Afroze  Begum,  a Quran Khwani followed by Dua,  was organized  at IMCG(PG) F-7/2 Islamabad, on 23rd June  2023 at 9:30 a. m.  The faculty  members  gathered in  Afroze  Begum  Auditorium . Retired and senior faculty members  attended the Quran  Khwani.  Ex- Principals, as well as  serving Principals, came to pay their  respect to the deceased  soul.  Dr.  Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh,  current Principal of IMCG F-7/2, Islamabad  offered Dua  for the late soul.  All eyes  were  in tears at the great  loss.  She would always be  remembered as a guardian /protector and custodian of educational  trends and traditions.  🤲
