1. Duration of the Program

Duration of BS Program
The programs leading to BS shall be of four years duration, equally divided into eight regular semesters.

Semester Duration
Each regular semester shall spread over eighteen weeks:
- 16 weeks for teaching.
- 2 weeks for preparation and conduct of examinations.
If a student scores a CGPA less than 1.0 at the end of any semester during the program of studies,
she shall be dropped from the College/University rolls. For first semester students, the GPA obtained at the end
of the first semester will be considered for this purpose.
The CGPA at the end of any semester will be calculated on the basis of all courses registered up to that semester,
including courses registered in summer session(s), if any.
2. Promotion & Probationary Period
2.1 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
Note:
- Bus Fee: Rs. 3,000/- per semester (subject to change) for students availing transport facility.
- University Examination Fee: Rs. 6,800/- per semester charged by Quaid-i-Azam University.
- Reappearance Examination Fee: Rs. 1,750/- per course.

BS Fee/Funds are charged as per:
- QAU Ref No. QAU/DAC/2025 dated September 01, 2025.
- FDE Office Order No. F.1-356/2019 dated September 12, 2025.
These charges are subject to change.
2.2 Probation
Whenever a student's CGPA is 1.0 or more but less than 2.0, she shall be placed on probation.
- A student shall be allowed three chances to remain on probation during the entire BS Program.

A student failing to achieve the required CGPA of 2.0 for the fourth time shall cease to be a student
of the College/University.

Students who fail compulsory course(s) must repeat those course(s) whenever they are offered by the college
during regular semesters.
3. Credit Hours

A credit hour means teaching a theory course for 60 minutes per week throughout the semester.
Attendance in tutorial sessions may also be required.

One laboratory credit hour requires:
- At least 2 contact hours per week for first four semesters.
- At least 3 contact hours per week for remaining semesters.

Courses having theory and practical components shall be represented as
Theory + Practical (e.g., 3+1 = 4 Credit Hours).
4. Examinations
4.1 Eligibility to Appear in Terminal Examination

A student must be registered with the University for the respective study program
and must have paid all required dues.

A student must have at least 80% attendance in a course to appear in the terminal examination.
The Principal may grant up to 10% relaxation in attendance for:
- Participation in extracurricular activities recommended by the college.
- Serious illness.
- Demise of an immediate family member.
Documentary evidence is required.

Students having attendance below 80% must repeat the course or substitute course as advised by the concerned Head of Department.
5. Evaluation
- Each course shall carry a total of 100 marks.

Student performance shall be evaluated as follows:

Home assignments, quizzes, presentations, term papers and lab work
(if applicable): 20%.

Two sessional examinations of one hour each:
30%.
Appearing in sessional examinations is mandatory to qualify for the terminal examination.

Terminal examination conducted by the University:
50%.
Duration: 3 Hours.
6. Award of Degree

After successful completion of all academic requirements, the University shall award
the BS (4-Year) Degree.

A Degree Fee of Rs. 4,750/- shall be charged by the University for issuance of the degree.
