Letter to My First Vote – A Symbolic Commitment to Pakistan’s Future
An engaging and meaningful event was held at IMCG (PG) F-7/2 Islamabad on 16th October, 2025 organized by Election Commission of Pakistan and FDE. It aimed at fostering civic responsibility among students and encouraging them to reflect on their role in shaping Pakistan’s future. The activity, titled “Letter to My First Vote,” provided students with an opportunity to write personal letters to their vote, expressing their hopes, aspirations, and commitment towards building a better Pakistan.
The event began with the introductory remarks by Ms. Duriya Aamir (Director, Media Coordination and Outreach) from the Election Commission of Pakistan, who emphasized upon the importance of youth participation in the democratic process of casting their vote for the progress of their country. Ms. Nayab Batool (Assistant Director, MCO) guided the audience and the participants regarding the planned activities and their utility. Their words inspired the students to think critically about their responsibilities as future voters.
Following the remarks, students enthusiastically took part in the letter-writing activity, crafting heartfelt and thoughtful messages to their “first vote.” Each letter was a symbolic gesture of their personal pledge to engage positively and responsibly in the electoral process.
Adding a creative and interactive touch to the event, Pakistan Post set up a mock postal station on the stage. Students actively participated in the postal activity, which included sealing their letters in envelopes, stamping them, and posting them into a symbolic letterbox.
